I get it - there are many folks available to help care for your pets.  So why hire someone that has a business doing it rather than a hobby sitter, minor, or family friend?

First, services are locked in. I will not let you down, cancel services, or otherwise fail to show up for a service.  Expectations are discussed ahead of time and I prioritize meeting those and aim to surpass them.  I truly care for other pets as if they were my own family. 

 

Second, safety of your beloved family member is first and foremost. I ensure all equipment, including harnesses or leashes, are fit appropriately and in working condition prior to leaving the house.  I have an extensive form for guardians to complete in order to ensure safety and security for your pets, including a vet release form signed prior to services.

Third, my home is fenced-in and pet-friendly.  No chemicals are ever used in my yard, I often have agility equipment set up for more active breeds, and the interior of my home is setup to allow for separation of any and all for feeding, stays, etc.  Additionally, my home is child-free; I understand how much this matters to some pets.

Finally, I am aware.  I am always watching animal body language to make sure they are as comfortable as possible.  I will not force them into any situation that pushes them beyond their comfort.  When possible, I look to the animal to initiate interaction with me first and I check often for consent prior to petting, etc.  I will advocate for your pet just as I advocate for my own, ensuring their protection and safety - within reason.
